Farewell and Best Wishes to Mrs. Allen!
It is with both sadness and gratitude that we say goodbye to Mrs. Allen, who is leaving us today to embark on an exciting new career in property sales.
For the past 11 years, Mrs. Allen has been an invaluable member of the Bexton team, supporting children with engaging small group interventions, providing excellent class cover and sharing her incredible choreography skills in our KS2 performances! Her dedication, enthusiasm and kindness have made a lasting impact on both staff and children.
While we will miss her greatly, we are very excited to hear about her new career path and wish her every success in this next chapter. Good luck, Mrs. Allen—you will always be a part of the Bexton family!
Show Racism The Red Card
On Friday 7th February, we are hosting a dress down day in support of Show Racism the Red Card, the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. Pupils are invited to wear red to show their support and bring a small donation (recommended amount of £1 or more please) for this important cause. This half term, we will also be celebrating diversity through exciting workshops led by the charity, engaging art activities exploring the theme of inclusion and staff and parent workshops, which your kind donations will go towards making possible. It's a wonderful opportunity to come together and promote kindness, equality and respect in our community. Thank you for your support!
Allergy Reminder - Keeping Our Pupils Safe
A gentle reminder that we are a nut-free school to ensure the safety of pupils with severe allergies. Please check carefully that packed lunches and snacks do not include nuts or nut-based products such as Nutella or peanut butter. Some foods, like pesto, seeded bread containing sesame seeds and cereal bars, may also contain allergens that are less obvious but still pose a risk. We appreciate your vigilance and understanding in helping us create a safe environment for all our pupils. Thank you for your continued support in keeping everyone safe.
Cinema Night Success!
We had a fantastic FOBS Cinema Night last Friday, raising an impressive £800 for the school! A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, especially the Year 4 parent helpers who provided all the refreshments. The children had a wonderful time enjoying the evening with their friends.
We continue to dedicate every penny of our fundraising efforts to replacing our AstroTurf, which, after the recent rain and storms, is in even greater need of renewal. If we match last year's fundraising success, we will have an incredible £50,000 ring-fenced towards the project—meaning we’ll be more than halfway there!
Unfortunately, installing a new AstroTurf is a significant expense and we want to ensure we invest in a high-quality surface that will provide long-lasting value and versatility. Your continued support for FOBS fundraising events makes a real difference, helping us fund projects that would otherwise be beyond our annual budget.
Our next fundraising event is the Family Quiz Night, scheduled for 28th February. Keep an eye out for further details—we hope to see many of you there!
Thank you again for your generosity and enthusiasm—we truly appreciate it!

Year 4 Times Tables Rock Stars
The Year 4 TT Rock Stars day was a huge success. All the children had a great time playing Times Tables Rock Stars against Manor Park. The children looked amazing and really entered into the spirit of the day.
Year 5 Fire Service Visit
Last week, Year 5 had a visit from Steph from the Cheshire Fire Service, who talked to the children about road safety. They discussed the importance of following THINK, STOP, LOOK and LISTEN when crossing the road and finding a safe place to cross. They also learned about why it is so important to wear helmets when on bikes and scooters and how to adjust them so they fit snugly, in addition to some top tips on preventing fires in their homes, such as not leaving devices charging overnight, testing smoke alarms each week and closing internal doors at night, particularly the downstairs doors. What an interesting session it was!
Eco News
After the recent storm, why not take some time to clear your garden or local area by picking up twigs and branches for crafting?
While you're out, you could also keep an eye out for the first signs of spring - crocuses and other flowers are starting to peek through the undergrowth. It's the perfect way to embrace the changing season!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Roman, thank you for your lovely nursery rhyme book.
