Colour Run- Get Ready for a Splash of Fun!
Don't forget to order your sponsorship pack via SCOPAY this weekend—bookings close on Monday 8:30am!
To build excitement for our upcoming Colour Run and highlight the benefits of staying active, we were delighted to welcome Vicky McKinnon from Run Knutsford to today’s assembly. Vicky spoke to the children about how running contributes to a healthy lifestyle and shared details about the Knutsford Harriers for those keen to take their running further.
We were also fortunate to hear from Naveen Bhatia, who introduced the children to Holi, the vibrant festival of colors celebrated in the Hindu tradition and beyond. Holi marks the arrival of spring and is a joyful occasion where people come together to throw brightly coloured powders, dance and celebrate new beginnings. Inspired by this tradition, our Colour Run will bring a similar explosion of colour, fun and community spirit!
Thank you to Vicky and Nav for giving up their time to talk to the children. They loved the assembly and are eagerly looking forward to next week’s event. We can’t wait to see you there!

Bexfest Planning Meeting - 31st March at 7:30pm
With Bexfest just around the corner (16th May 2025), we’re working hard behind the scenes to make this year’s summer festival even better than last year!
To help make this happen, we’re holding a FOBs planning meeting on Monday, 31st March at 7:30pm to organise the coordination of stalls and activities, ensuring the event runs smoothly. We’d love for you to join us—whether you can lend a hand in the lead-up to the event or on the night itself.
As a thank you, all volunteers will receive a special ‘Golden Ticket’—free entry to Bexfest! So, it’s well worth getting involved, having some fun and helping us put together a fantastic evening for the whole school community.
We’re also on the lookout for:
🎤 Event sponsors – Your company’s details will be featured on the stage backdrop, posters, flyers, and across our social media.
🎸 Live bands – If you (or someone you know) is in a band and would love to perform, we’d love to hear from you! Rumour has it the staff band is reuniting for another amazing set after their success at the Christmas Extravaganza!
If you’d like to sponsor the event or get involved musically, please email us at admin@bexton.cheshire.sch.uk.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Show Racism the Red Card Workshops
This week, our pupils, parents and staff have taken part in engaging and thought-provoking Show Racism the Red Card workshops. These sessions have sparked important conversations about understanding racism, challenging stereotypes and being an ally, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring Bexton is a welcoming and inclusive school for all.
We encourage families to continue these discussions at home. You might ask your child:
🗣 What did you learn about racism this week?
🗣 Can you think of an example of a stereotype?
🗣 What does being an ally mean to you?
By keeping these conversations going, we can all play a part in promoting kindness, empathy and respect in our community.

Get your Easter Humpties for East Cheshire Hospice!
This year we will be selling Cadbury Creme Eggs dressed in gorgeous, knitted Humpty characters in order to raise essential funds for our local hospice. Volunteers have been working hard to knit the fluffy characters which we're sure the kids will love! East Cheshire Hospice relies on fundraising for c.80% of its daily running costs, so the sale of these eggs will go a long way to delivering valuable services to our community.
The eggs are being sold for £2.50 each from the school office and all donations will go to East Cheshire Hospice.

Girls' Football League
This week, Bexton took part in their first ever Girls' Football League match. The league has been set up this year by the Knutsford Academy. The team had won the inter-schools' tournament before Christmas and played a friendly, but this was their first outing since then. They had a very tough away fixture against St. Vincent's where they represented Bexton brilliantly. With a wonderful spirit, they worked extremely hard and showed great composure and tenacity. They did us proud, and we're delighted to say that the team won 3-0! Thank you so much to their adults for transporting the team and also for your support from the side-lines. Next up, is Mobberley on Tuesday 1st April at home.
Eco News - Composting Competition
Fancy creating something from waste?
Ansa have set up a new composting competition to encourage pupils to produce compost themed artwork to support the school efforts at making compost.
Whether it is an image or object made from any natural waste ( such as vegetable peelings, wood shavings or a disused newspaper) take a photo or bring it into school for the attention of Mrs Ledwith by Monday 24th March. All entries will be used to show our commitment to encourage and inspire all ages to compost. Entries will be recycled!
Have fun!

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Edie-Marie, thank you for your lovely book.
