Important Date Change – Open Afternoon
We are excited to announce that, as part of our focus on celebrating diversity, we have arranged a special parent session led by Show Racism the Red Card (SRTRC). To give parents the opportunity to engage with this important topic, we have decided to combine the session with our Open Afternoon. As a result, the Open Afternoon will now take place on Friday 21st March. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but hope you’ll agree that this is a fantastic opportunity to support an important theme. We look forward to seeing you there!
Show Racism The Red Card
Last Friday, the children raised money to support Show Racism the Red Card, the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. The total we have raised is £452.00! Thank you for your generous support.
A huge thank you to Louisa Blundell, who started the day with an inspiring assembly, raising awareness, celebrating diversity and introducing the exciting workshops we have planned after half-term.
If you have not yet made a donation, you can still do so via Scopay.
Workshops
Next half-term, each year group will be taking part in workshops led by educators from Show Racism the Red Card. Staff will be attending a training session to further support their knowledge and we will also be holding a parent session during the Open Afternoon. We are really looking forward to the project and the impact this will make across the school.

Safer Internet Day 2025
This week, we marked Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 11th February. We regularly discuss the topic with the children to help them understand the importance of staying safe online. With children spending more time using digital devices, it is essential that they learn how to navigate the online world responsibly, recognising potential risks and knowing how to seek help when needed. We encourage all parents and carers to continue these conversations at home. For useful tips on supporting your child’s online safety, please visit: Safer Internet Day – Tips for Parents and Carers.
Art Week
This week, the children have been creating incredible artworks based on a range of diversity related books, such as Shine by Sarah Asuquo, The Proudest Blue by Ibtihaj Muhammad and Grandad Mandela by Zazi and Zindziswa Mandela. These artworks will contribute towards a Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 display promoting the important message of diversity, equality and inclusion.

Match Funding: Can You Help?
As we are starting to plan some exciting FOBS events for next term, we’re reaching out to parents who work for companies that offer match funding for charity fundraising. Match funding could significantly boost the profits from our events and make a big difference for our school.
Here are the upcoming events where your support could have a real impact:
Friday 28th February – Quiz Night (Book your tickets via SCOPAY!)
W/C - 10th March – Red Envelope Week
Friday 28th March – Sponsored Colour Run (3:30–5:00pm – save the date!)
Friday 16th May – BEXFEST!
If you think you might be able to help with match funding for any of these events, please email us at admin@bexton.cheshire.sch.uk, and we'll get in touch.
Thank you in advance for your support — we truly appreciate it!
Outstanding Payments
We kindly ask all parents to ensure that any outstanding payments for school meals, trips or other activities are settled by the end of today, Friday 14th February. Prompt payment helps us to manage school resources effectively and continue providing the best experiences for our pupils. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the school office. Thank you for your cooperation!
School Uniform
Please take a moment this half term to check your child's uniform to ensure that their clothes are properly labeled and that they have the correct items. Please return any clothes that aren't your child's to lost property by the school office.

Triathlon
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Lauren from Restless Development to our assembly. She shared exciting news about a triathlon event taking place on Sunday 29th June 2025, at Cheadle Hulme School. The event is open to pupils in Years 3-6 and is a charity run, raising funds to support young people. While this is not a school-led event, we encourage all interested pupils to participate. Children will need to form teams of four and come up with a team name. Parents will be responsible for signing up their child(ren) and can find all the details on the PDF information sheets below. Participants will receive a medal, a free t-shirt and some sweets, making for a fun day for everyone involved! We look forward to seeing lots of Bexton pupils take part in this fantastic event and proudly wear their medals!

Netball
This week, the netball team got the Spring League underway with a tough home game against a strong Mobberley team. There were no signs of rustiness and the team worked so hard and stayed positive throughout. It was a great game to watch, and we're delighted to say that Bexton won
6-5! A massive well done to the team, three of whom were making their Bexton debut! What a fantastic squad with a great team spirit. Thank you so much to all of the parents who stood in the cold and supported the team. On to the next game!
Year 3 D&T
Y3 have had an amazing D&T day yesterday. Each class has studied the features and then built a Roman fort.
