Illness Reporting

Following a review with our Local Authority Attendance Officer this week, we thought it would be useful to send out a reminder of some of our key attendance procedures. Please take a moment to review the below details to ensure smooth operations and compliance with our policy:

Illness Reporting:

  • If your child is absent due to illness (I code), you must provide specific details about their condition for safeguarding and whole-school monitoring purposes.

  • Absences cannot be recorded as illness without sufficient information.

Reporting Absences:

  • Notify the School before 9:00 am on each day of absence or lateness via:

    • Phone (using the dedicated answerphone)

    • Email

    • In person

  • Provide the following details: Child’s Name, Class, Date, and Reason for Absence.

Start of the Day:

  • School doors open at 8:40 am to encourage a prompt start. Registers are taken at 8:50 am (morning) and 1:15 pm for Infant classes or 1:30 pm for Junior classes.

Late Arrivals:

  • Pupils arriving between 8:50 am and 9:15 am will receive a late mark (L code).

  • Arrivals after 9:15 am will be marked as late after the register closes (U code). Persistent lateness may lead to local authority action.

FOBS Cinema Night Year 1 to 6 - Friday 24th January 2025!

We’re pleased to invite you and your children to our exciting Cinema Night next Friday! This fun-filled event is open to all Year 1 to Year 6 children and promises to be a fantastic evening. The children will choose their favourite film during Monday’s assembly, so it’s sure to be a popular pick!

For just £5, your child can enjoy a movie experience with their friends from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. They can wear comfy clothes, bring along a small cushion and settle in for a great time. Plus, each child will be treated to a drink and a delicious hot dog, with all food intolerances catered for.

We can’t wait to see the children there!

Pupil Data Collection

As part of our ongoing efforts to comply with the Data Protection Act and ensure the accuracy of the information we hold, we are asking all parents to complete a short Microsoft Forms questionnaire. This is an important step in our data-checking exercise, and we would greatly appreciate your time in completing it. Along with this, we are also re-sending the Pupil Privacy Notice for your reference, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your child’s personal data. Please take a moment to read the notice and complete the form using this link: https://forms.office.com/e/uTZH0wXKuZ

If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Business Manager, Arran Rimmer, directly as the school’s Data Protection Officer businessmanager@bexton.cheshire.sch.uk Thank you for your support in this important process.
